A wonderful workshop weekend in Dienten
By Jess Crutchley
Last weekend, the Klein Wolf Peters team headed off to Dienten am Hochkönig in Austria for our annual workshop. The stunning alpine backdrop provided the perfect setting for us to step back from our translation and project management software, breathe the mountain air and reflect on the past year – how far we’ve come as a company, what we’ve learnt and where we want the next year to take us.
After looking back over last year’s figures, successes, feedback and the training courses we’d all attended, we moved on to discussing the exciting things we have on the horizon for 2020. We also dedicated some time to planning our all-new website concept (watch this space – er, literally).
But the weekend wasn’t just about work. Team building and bonding were a big part of the agenda as well: we cooked together, laughed, chatted and hiked up to a delightful lunch spot – the Grünegg Alm – where we all indulged in a bowl of mouthwatering Knoblauchcremesuppe (cream of garlic soup), something that has now become somewhat of a tradition on our workshop weekends away. You have to try it to believe it!
Instead of hiking back down, we all sledged – another tradition we’ve established. We spent the evenings playing some board games, including the wonderfully frustrating “Phase 10” and the word-association game “Codenames”, which was simply the perfect game for us linguists and had us all laughing until our sides split (I’m not kidding). If you’re as passionate about language as we are, this is definitely the game for you!
All in all, we had an extremely productive weekend away with a healthy dose of fun, laughs and team bonding all rolled in. We’ve come back feeling refreshed and motivated for the next year and all it brings!
